Lesson 5 The Great Tribulation Details

"...for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall." Matthew 24:21

In this lesson, we look into greater detail concerning the great tribulation. Imagine what it will be like for those who are on the earth then. It will be a time of unprecedented suffering and distress for Israel and the body of Christ. Jesus gives us many particulars so that His children will not be caught by surprise or offended because of what has befallen them. He warns not to let your heart grow cold.

Consider that we may be part of the generation who lives to see the return of the Lord Jesus, and that we may go through the great tribulation before His return.

• What can you do now in your spiritual life to begin to prepare for this time of testing?

• How can you “practice” putting your trust in the Lord and honoring Him this week?

• Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking out own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

Why do you think it will be important to meet together and encourage one another to love and good deeds as we draw closer to the Lord’s return?

• In what ways are you helping the persecuted church and His brothers, the Jews? Matthew 25:40

Respond by writing out a prayer asking the Lord for opportunities this week to honor Him. Ask Him for ideas of practical ways you can do this. Ask Him for boldness and courage to make His name known. Finally, ask Him for mercy as He fulfills His plan for the end of this age.
