Peace That Holds You

Aug 4, 2026

John 14:27 — "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Whatever this day holds — a hard conversation, an unresolved worry, ordinary stress, or just the low hum of anxiety that doesn't have one clear cause — this verse isn't asking you to pretend it's not there. It's an invitation to receive something underneath it. Peace as a gift already given, not a mood you have to manufacture.

The command that follows the promise is worth sitting with too: do not let your hearts be troubled. Not "don't feel anything," but don't let trouble be the thing that rules you. There's an active choice buried in there — a daily returning to what's already been given, rather than defaulting to fear.

Be Still. Listen. Let God Speak.
